Car Sharing
Did you know?
- A regular car sharer can save over £1,000 a year!
- Driving alone also adds extra wear and tear to your vehicle
- If half the motorists in the UK shared a lift just one day a week, road congestion and pollution would reduce by 10%, improving air quality for everyone.

Why Sustainable Travel?
Your Money
Walking and cycling are great ways to keep fit and save money. Choosing
sustainable methods of transport can also cut your travel costs compared
to driving alone.
Your Health
A lack of physical activity is causing obesity in adults. This increases
the risk of health problems including diabetes, heart disease, stroke,
cancer and osteoporosis. Just 30 minutes of exercise a day, including
walking and cycling, can keep you fit and healthy. These activities also
boost mental wellbeing by reducing stress and improving mood. Fewer car
journeys also leads to cleaner air, that also improves your health.
The Environment
Climate change is considered to be one of the greatest challenges we face.
By reducing your car use, you can help limit climate change, improve air
quality, whilst also reducing road congestion.
